Pillow Talk Mirror

It all began with a lipstick.

A cousin of mine walked in one day, excited about her new shade from Charlotte Tilbury — Pillow Talk Original. The name lingered, as did the colour. She wanted an outfit in that same muted, romantic tone. “Simple and elegant,” she said.

But my hands — and my heart — had other plans.

What started as a simple custom piece for Rakhi turned into something deeply personal. I chose georgette as the base — for its flow, for how it listens to movement. The neckline transformed into an angrakha-style V, unplanned but perfectly fitting.

Tiny hand-embroidered mirrors began making their way across the fabric, like stars softly scattered on dusk. I added a subtle slit — not too bold, just enough. The ghera was widened, pleats made deeper — allowing the silhouette to move like poetry.

Even the dupatta wasn’t in the original plan. But how could I resist? A soft, sheer piece with a minimal lace border to complete the story — light enough to dance in, elegant enough to hold a moment still.

She wore it on Rakhi. The compliments didn’t stop. And somewhere in that day, I realised — this wasn’t just her outfit anymore.
It was Pillow Talk.
